The objective of Ch.ACO's first online fair is that the participating galleries in the version that was going to be held in March of this year, can sell and spread their artists for free, in one of the leading web platforms internationally for the sale of contemporary art.

It started last Wednesday, May 27 and will be in operation for one month, until June 27. t’s publicly accessible and free for everyone, the website will work 24 hours a day in order to know and visit the different profiles of the participating galleries.

The inauguration led by the fair's director, Elodie Fulton and the curator of the PLANTA section, Matías Allende, on Friday May 29, welcomed gallery owners, artists and the general public, through a live broadcast on our Instagram, @feriachaco. More than 85 participants and around 30 questions from the auditors were answered, involving the public, one of the objectives of this new online version. A conversation about the artists who will be present, the more than 35 galleries in the MAIN and PLANTA sections, and information about some activities to come.

The talks were held during the heritage weekend and both are now available on our platforms. The first one, entitled "Collecting contemporary art as heritage for the future" was held on Saturday at 16:00 with the panelists Carlos Maillet, director of the National Heritage Service; Fernando Pérez, director of the National Museum of Fine Arts; and the moderator Camilo Yáñez, artist and curator. The instance was open to anyone who wanted to participate, reaching 92 auditors and generating several questions that were answered at the end by the panelists. Discussions were generated around the new challenges for the world of culture and the arts in the context of the pandemic, and the importance of culture in social life.

The second discussion, "The art of collecting", was held on Sunday at 1:00 pm with the panelists Geraldine Compton, Chilean collector; Luis Felipe Cordero, another Chilean collector; and Ari González Vigil, Peruvian gallery owner. The exhibitors raised the reality of collecting in our country and in the rest of the world, and the opportunities that have been generated today with the boom in online media. The instance ended with 130 participants, who made comments and questions, which gave the opportunity to interact with the exhibitors.

During these first days of the fair, two Ch.ACO catalog collections were raffled, from all previous versions. About 400 people participated through Instagram. Even though there were only two winners, there will be more contests and activities for everyone to participate.
