About of the reality that we are living all over the world: How do you see the present in the world of culture and the arts, and especially in the art market? What do you expect or think will happen?
As money is losing its value, more art is going to be sold, because, for example, gold, art and bitcoins, are going to be promoted on the market. In some way this is going to open up opportunities because it will be more valued than before, it's going to generate a certain appreciation of art in the market, which usually happens in times of crisis.
I have been looking at things that I have never looked at before and been delving into new things and techniques because now I have the time for that.
In terms of quarantine, how have you lived the lockdown? Have you had any particular thoughts or inspirations?
I have been looking at things that I have never looked at before and been delving into new things and techniques because now I have the time for that. In this sense it has been good, because one is connected with galleries and artists. Also, this kind of prohibition makes you feel the incredible freedom we have and do not appreciate.
And about your creative process, has it been modified? How is it being?
I always try to do new research in the technique, and having so much time has allowed me to do new things and reflect. I try not to repeat ideas and make each work show a different way of thinking. Having so much time has been good because I have tried many other things that I haven't tried before. For example, I have worked more with color, I have changed papers, I've started working with transparent paper. I also had time to read "La Isla de las Mujeres" by Lisa See and it influenced me a lot to do this new works.
It is a good time to invest in young artists, if you have a good perception, why not. I now started buying art.

As to the reality of the national artistic scene, how do you see the export of Chilean art?
There are Chilean artists who are impressive and the more opportunities there are for them to go out, the better because people get to appreciate them. This platform is important and now it is opening more and more for Latin American art. We can currently see Chilean artists at important fairs like ARCO.
It is a good time to invest in young artists, if you have a good perception, why not. I now started buying art.
Related to the internationalization of artists and opportunities to make themselves known, What relevance do you think the incidence of art fairs has in this point?
I think that in Chile it is very difficult to make art and live from it, so there are several artists who are teachers and do classes at universities. I know that in Chile there are many initiatives to help artists to enter these platforms, and it is important to internationalize art, for artists to travel, but also, of not having the obligation to live abroad to have opportunities. In my generation you had to leave the country in order to be successful and survive. Many people want to come to Chile for tourism, but they could also be attracted because there are many good artists.
